Where and when do you teach?

Starting from September, we will be teaching at Lime Academy Ravensbourne, based in Romford in Essex, on Mondays and Tuesdays between 4 to 6 pm, school term time only. We will be adding more pools as we grow, so stay tuned or join our waiting list for further updates!

What ages do you teach and what type of lessons do you offer?

We teach parent and babies from 3 to 12 months, parent and toddlers from 1 to 2 years, parent and child lessons from 2 to 3 years, and pre-school lessons with no parents in the pool for 3 to 4 year olds. We also provide 1:1 and 1:2 lessons for child beginners aged 3 and up, including SEN children.

How much does each lesson cost and how do I pay?

Parent and baby/todder/child group lessons from ages 3 months to 3 years are £13.50 per 25 minute lesson (a trial lesson is half price outside of offer periods).

Pre-school group lessons from 3 to 4 years are £12.50 per 25-minute lesson (block booking only after a trial).

1:1 lessons start from £38 per 25 minute lesson (block booking price only or £43 pay-as-you-go).

1:2 lessons start from £43 per 25 minute lesson (block booking price only or £48 pay-as-you-go).

Our current payment methods are bank transfer and then monthly via direct debit thereafter.

Please contact us to discuss specific prices based on your preferred location and time slot and current offers that may be available.

How many children per class?

Parent and child lessons have up to 8 parent and child pairs. Pre-school lessons have up to 4 learners per teacher. We will often have an assistant in the water to help too.

Which program do you teach?

Our bespoke lessons, recognition and reward program is designed to Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway, with the Discovery Ducklings for baby lessons, Ducklings program for toddlers and young children, Learn to Swim Stages 1 and 2 for pre-schoolers ages 3 to 4.

What do I need to bring?

We require all learners including parents entering the pool to arrive 'beach' ready with your swimming costume, trunks or shorts underneath your outdoor clothing to make it easier to start the lesson once you arrive.

Whether your child is toilet trained or not, all children under the age of 3 must follow the double nappy system that includes wearing a disposable or reusable nappy underneath a neoprene or 'happy nappy' or an all in one product.

This is to ensure the pool remains clean for all users and to avoid unnecessary pool closures.

The neoprene nappy must be a 'snug' fit so that there are no gaps around the leg or waist seams when worn. We will assist you with putting this on during your first lesson if required.

It may also be advisable to put on a child wetsuit over the winter months, especially for children who feel the cold once getting out of the pool. Otherwise a normal swimming costume or shorts over a happy nappy will be fine and an absorbent towel or poncho to wrap around your child as soon as they get out of the pool to avoid them getting cold.

Can I buy any essential items from you?

As a new service provider we do not currently provide any required items for sale but we will monitor requests and may be able to do so in the near future. Required items can be purchased online or via major high street retailers. Please let us know if you need any additional recommendations before you purchase.

Is there free parking?

There is sufficient free parking available on site premises. For security reasons, if the school gates are closed, you will need to buzz to gain entry. You'll be able to park in the car park at the back of the site. Please drive all the way through and park in the marked parking bay areas only.

How do I get to the pool?

For our Romford pool, once on the premises, you will enter the pool via the main school reception. Upon entering for the first time, you will be required to register using the school system at the main reception desk and will be escorted into the pool area by a member of the Little Legends' team.

Are changing rooms/showers available?

Yes, there are separate male and female changing rooms available with a single shower available in each area to warm up and rinse off before and after each lesson. If you are a single parent attending a parent and baby led session, please bring a suitable changing mat for changing your baby or toddler safely on the floor. We strongly discourage the use of changing room benches to change or lay down babies while changing to avoid an accident.

What temperature is the pool?

The hydrotherapy pools we use are maintained above 30 degrees, typically at 32 degrees celcuis.

Can I still attend if I am sick and can I catch up a missed lesson?

The general rule of thumb is, if you have a contagious infection then you MUST avoid attending swimming to avoid spreading it.

You also MUST avoid attending swimming if you have had a fever or an episode of vomiting or diarrhea in the past 48 hours.

You should avoid swimming with an open cut or wound, broken bone or bad burn.

In all cases of illness apart from a cold affecting the head only, you should consult with a doctor before returning to the pool.

Catch-up lessons for missed lessons are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate missed lessons where possible during the booked period, subject to availability. We do not carry-over missed lessons to subject terms or booking periods.
